My journey began 7/28/20 from a birthday challenge. I was challenged to walk or run 2 miles. As to see I have a good challenge, I accepted. I hadn't run in years so of course I walked (lol). After I completed, I figured hey that wasn't so bad and I continued. I started walking daily, then running.
Now, having had two back surgeries, running can be limited, but I learned how to do what's called HITT. So, I usually run as fast as I can, then walk. I do this until I hit my milage goal for that day. I usually alternate between running and lifting weights.
When I started, I was 238 lbs and currently I'm 172 lbs. No diet pills and no surgeries, just hard work and dedication.
The number one adjustment I made along my weight loss journey was changing my eating habits. I drink a lot of water and cut back on sugar and carbs. It wasn't easy to start, but I have a great friend/coach (Shala) that continues to motivate me to keep moving.
My advice to anyone trying to lose weight is start, be consistent and don't give up.
